First preview track from upcoming "Carnival Arcane" CD released.

Midnight Syndicate has just released a preview track entitled Freakshow from the upcoming CD, Carnival Arcane which will be released August 2nd. The song can be viewed below or on YouTube.

Edward Douglas had this to say "We had a difficult time picking a Carnival Arcane "preview" track as it's hard to single out any one track as being indicative of the CD. There's a lot of things going on in this one. The song we chose is Freakshow as we think it bridges some familiar elements with a taste of some of what's in store... Inspired by research, this track incorporates some of the more tragic elements of carnie life and the original freak shows as well as the macabre. We hope people enjoy it."

The theme of the new disc surrounds the Lancaster-Rigby Carnival, a shadowy, turn-of-the-century traveling circus with more than a few skeletons in its closet. "We spent a lot of time researching circuses and carnivals of that time period to ensure that the sounds and music work together to immerse you in this world," said Edward Douglas. "There's also a big tip of the top hat to Mr. Bradbury whose work inspired many of the more horrific elements on the disc." Midnight Syndicate's "Carnival Arcane" CD progressing well

Midnight Syndicate reports that work on the upcoming Carnival Arcane CD is proceeding extremely well. On Friday, Gavin Goszka posted on Facebook, "There were concerns because we knew going into this disc that we would need some very specialized, hard-to-find sound effects, textures, and vocal FX. After listening to the tracks today, we feel, without a doubt, this disc will have the most tangible atmosphere of any of the discs we've done to date." The CD, which takes listeners on a journey to the sinister Lancaster-Rigby Carnival, is expected to be released the first week in August. Photo credit: Rick Davis, DAFE.
