Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows thrilling audiences at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends
Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows has been thrilling audiences at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends since they opened Friday, September 12th. The multimedia Halloween music horror music concert is being called "top-notch and ambitious," "brilliant and artistically creative," and "a must see" by audiences and press alike (see Reviews). "We couldn't be happier with how the show came together," said Edward Douglas. "We have an incredible cast and crew, the set and films look great, HalloWeekends and the Ghoultime Theatre are a perfect venue, and the response has been absolutely amazing." In addition to enjoying their first live performances together, both Edward and Gavin Goszka are holding meet-and-greets with guests after every show at the Midnight Syndicate merch tent outside the theater. "One of the highlights for both of us has been being able to meet and talk with everyone after the shows," added Gavin. "It's been great getting feedback from both long-time fans as well as new audiences." Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows runs every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from now through November 1st. Midnight Syndicate's Monsters of Legend CD has won the category for BEST CD in the 12th annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards. The Rondo Awards are a great honor in the horror industry and we appreciate everyone who voted! "Our goal with Monsters of Legend was to transport the listener into the world of classic horror," said Edward Douglas. "So to be recognized both by horror fans and an organization like the Rondos which is heavily rooted in classic horror movies, means a lot." "We really enjoyed being able to draw upon the classic horror scores, themes, and characters to create something uniquely our own," added Gavin Goszka. Midnight Syndicate Live! to launch at Cedar Point's HalloWeekends 2014!
After seventeen years, fourteen studio albums, three
soundtracks, and a motion picture, Midnight Syndicate is proud to announce that they are teaming up
this fall with world famous amusement park Cedar Point to launch
their first live performances! Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows,
a multimedia horror-themed concert blending live music, theatre, and film will
run Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays from Sept. 12 through November 1 at
Cedar Point's 18th annual HalloWeekends event.
Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows will mark the first live performances for Edward and Gavin as Midnight Syndicate. In November of last year, the band cancelled their Midnight Syndicate Live! Kickstarter campaign citing an "exciting possible opportunity" that they needed to explore that would result in a "win-win" for both the team and fans alike. "HalloWeekends is the perfect place to launch the first Midnight Syndicate Live! experience," said Douglas. "The venue is awesome and will allow us to fully realize the exciting, one-of-a-kind show we first envisioned. We're also really psyched to be working with a legendary amusement park that Gavin and I grew up with." Charles Bradshaw, Corporate V.P. of Entertainment for Cedar Fair, added, "Working with these industry leading music producers on a live show is an exciting prospect. The final product is going to amaze."
Among those already attached to the project are special effects legend Robert Kurtzman (From Dusk Till Dawn, KNB EFX) and his Creature Corps, David "House" Greathouse (Face Off, Mushroomhead, Dark Legacy), Beki Ingram (Face Off), director Gary Jones (Boogeyman, Axe Giant), 529 Films (Lost), EFX-TEK, and Screamline Studios.
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, is the largest amusement park in the world. With an unmatched collection of 72 world-class rides, including 17 thrilling roller coasters, three huge kids' areas, live shows, unique and interesting places to eat and spend the night, a mile-long sandy beach and more, it's easy to see why Cedar Point has consistently been named the "Best Amusement Park in the World."

High praise for Axe Giant Soundtrack
The Axe Giant the Wrath of Paul Bunyan Original Motion Picture Soundtrack has been receiving excellent reviews. Midnight Syndicate's latest movie soundtracks features a fun mix of thunderous, pulse-pounding action themes, creepy atmosphere, and early Americana instrumentation. To preview tracks, click here. To purchase a copy and preview tracks, stop by the Midnight Syndicate Store!
MantaRay Pictures – “Impressive. Edward Douglas is a chameleon on this project... (having) Midnight Syndicate branch out to capture the essence of Americana... the soundtrack pretty scary with gnarly brass, chilling strings and high-octane scoring.“
Gross Movie Reviews – “Fun, yet elegant period music that made me actually want to watch the film again to see how it helps blend the scenes together. Midnight Syndicate once again composes a soundtrack that is a must own for movie soundtrack collectors and proves their music is becoming a bigger part of the film than the film itself… I give it 3 ½ out of 4”
Games Gazette (UK) – “What makes this movie most memorable is the excitingly brilliant score that peaks, flows, rises and softens at all the right moments. Perfect background when you are alone in your home with the lights down.”
Pop Culture Previews – “...a nice brooding soundtrack... These are the sort of songs that Midnight Syndicate has mastered like no other... they continue to entertain as this album sounds significantly different than most of their works.”
28 Days Later Analysis – “Arguably, one of the best composers of horror music... unsettling... atmospheric...diverse”

Haunted House documentary, "Screamer" released

Following a couple of haunted house builders in Indiana for five years the documentary set out to disprove the idea that the haunted house business is "fun and easy." While documenting their struggle to make a successful haunted house business, the film's two subjects, Matt Kemp and Phil Granger sometimes produce some humorous if unsuccessful results. The film moves around to some of the more successful haunted attractions around the country while maintaining the main story thread that ends with a shocking twist.
The DVD is currently available on EBAY as well as on the film's website, www.screamermovie.com where it is also available as a streaming rental.
In addition to the music of Midnight Syndicate that is heard throughout several of the haunted houses showcased, the documentary also features a brief interview with Edward Douglas from 2006.
