After seventeen years, fourteen studio albums, three
soundtracks, and a motion picture, Midnight Syndicate is proud to announce that they are teaming up
this fall with world famous amusement park Cedar Point to launch
their first live performances! Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows,
a multimedia horror-themed concert blending live music, theatre, and film will
run Friday nights, Saturdays, and Sundays from Sept. 12 through November 1 at
Cedar Point's 18th annual HalloWeekends event.
Midnight Syndicate Live! Legacy of Shadows will mark the first live
performances for Edward and Gavin as Midnight Syndicate. In November of last
year, the band cancelled their Midnight Syndicate Live! Kickstarter
campaign citing an "exciting possible opportunity" that they needed
to explore that would result in a "win-win" for both the team and
fans alike. "HalloWeekends is the perfect place to launch the first
Midnight Syndicate Live! experience," said Douglas. "The venue
is awesome and will allow us to fully realize the exciting, one-of-a-kind show
we first envisioned. We're also really psyched to be working with a legendary
amusement park that Gavin and I grew up with." Charles Bradshaw, Corporate
V.P. of Entertainment for Cedar Fair, added, "Working with these industry leading
music producers on a live show is an exciting prospect. The final product is
going to amaze."
Among those already attached to the project are special effects legend Robert Kurtzman (From Dusk Till Dawn, KNB EFX) and his Creature Corps, David
"House" Greathouse (Face Off, Mushroomhead, Dark Legacy), Beki Ingram (Face Off),
director Gary Jones (Boogeyman, Axe Giant), 529 Films (Lost),
EFX-TEK, and Screamline Studios.
Cedar Point in
Sandusky, Ohio, is the largest amusement park in the world. With an unmatched
collection of 72 world-class rides, including 17 thrilling roller coasters,
three huge kids' areas, live shows, unique and interesting places to eat and
spend the night, a mile-long sandy beach and more, it's easy to see why Cedar
Point has consistently been named the "Best Amusement Park in the World."

Big news and new trailer for "Bunyan" movie

The film was produced by Jeff Miller (Ballistica, Hellblock 13) and Gary Jones (The Dead Matter, Xena, Boogeyman 3) along with newcomer and fellow writer Jason Ancona. Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps handled the bulk of makeup FX, with Kurtzman (creator of From Dusk Till Dawn) and Philip R. Garrett (Horrors of War) joining the team as co-producers. Midnight Syndicate to score "Bunyan." First trailer released.
The first trailer for the horror/creature feature Bunyan, directed by Gary Jones (Boogeyman 3, Xena, The Dead Matter), has been released by Kinetic Filmworks on their new website www.bunyanmovie.com. The film (due out in late-2012) will feature a soundtrack by Edward Douglas and Midnight Syndicate.
"We are excited about this first trailer and about the film,” says producer Jeff Miller. "We've put a lot of time in to make the best film we could. It's been a labor of love - or as much love as you can have for a 15-foot-tall axe murderer. But we believe horror fans everywhere are gonna dig the finished product. We're also pleased to announce that Edward Douglas and Midnight Syndicate (The Rage, The Dead Matter) have come aboard to compose the score,” Miller added.
Bunyan is a dark, contemporary take on the tall tale of lumberjack Paul Bunyan. Kids at a first-time offenders’ boot camp discover that the legend of Paul Bunyan is real, but is much more horrifying than they could have imagined. They incur the wrath of the 15-foot monstrous giant, who was banished from town 100 years ago and thought dead.
The movie stars genre vet Joe Estevez, Dan Haggerty (TV's Grizzly Adams), Tom Downey (SyFy's War of the Worlds), and Tim Lovelace (Mosquito). Amber Connor, Jesse Kove, Kristina Kopf (The Dead Matter), Cliff Williams, Victoria Ramos, Jill Evyn, and Chris Hahn round out the cast.
Bunyan is in post-production. It will be finished in the spring. Filming encompassed many locations in California, Ohio, and Michigan.
Miller (Ballistica, Hellblock 13)and Jones are producing through their
company, Kinetic Filmworks. Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps handled the bulk of makeup FX, with Kurtzman (From Dusk Till Dawn) joining the team as co-producer. More information is available at www.bunyanmovie.com and at www.kineticfilmworks.com.
